“IMPROMPTU AT THE VENUE” Instead of the usual monthly demonstration / workshop and competition, it was the brainchild of Chairperson Priya Shah assisted by the committee, to hold the informal fun imposed meeting at a modern new outdoorsy restaurant ‘Bao Box’. Six excited teams were provided with huge circular metal frames. Two eager teams had terracotta pots, and one had a pre-done structure. A fantastic selection of mainly tropical plant material was generously provided in great abundance. The various heliconias and exotic foliages had to be seen to be believed! Adding to the potential for design inspiration to be unleashed, were dried components such as stones, palm panicles, bark, vine wreaths, hay, spathes, rope and bamboo. The eight teams of members both new and experienced together with highly impressed guests, totalling to 50 in number, collaborated with immense enthusiasm to create superb impromptu designs.
